Hi—
The Biden-Harris administration didn't just pause approvals on exports of harmful liquid "natural" gas—their Department of Energy (DOE) opened a review on the economic and environmental studies that help determine if LNG export terminals are in the "public interest." (Spoiler: They are not.)
This was huge. And even though a Trump-appointed judge recently halted the LNG pause, DOE still has the authority to update its "public interest" analysis.
Just one problem: Oil-drenched Republicans in Congress won't stop trying to use other bills to sneak in amendments that would take this authority away from DOE. In fact, they're trying to do it again this week.
We've already sent 9,428 messages to members of Congress urging them to support the LNG pause and do everything they can to hasten a just transition to a clean energy future. That's incredible!
Yet it's crucial that our lawmakers keep hearing from as many constituents as possible right now so they know we want them to stop LNG from poisoning our health and future—and we need your voice.
