Our top priority is slowing the spread of COVID-19. Consequently, we canceled all in-person campaign events for the foreseeable future and are relying on digital outreach. We appreciate your support during this challenging time.

Friends,

Protecting Washington's environment is one of my top priorities. Unfortunately, the Trump administration repeatedly tries to dismantle the EPA, illegally rolling back regulations that protect our environment from corporate pollution and combat the climate crisis.

My team is fighting back on behalf of Washingtonians and our environment. I'm proud that we've stopped more than a dozen unlawful actions by this administration that threaten our environment -- and we're not slowing down.

On this 50th anniversary of Earth Day, I'm honored to be a co-chair of Earth Day Northwest 2020. I support its mission to advance sustainability through innovative, tangible change. We know that attacks on our environment disproportionately impact low-income communities and communities of color, and it's our duty to stop these threats.

That's why I'm excited to announce an environmental justice initiative to expand our work on behalf of our most vulnerable communities from the threats to clean air and clean water.

Specifically, I am growing my Environmental Protection Unit into a permanent division to address these injustices. Additionally, we are organizing an environmental justice summit to bring together experts to develop innovative, lasting solutions.

I will keep you updated on this important initiative. We can accomplish incredible things together.

- Bob
