Nottingham Beach is back at Old Market Square for the summer holidays.

Open from 10am daily, there’s a bigger and better sandy beach and pool area, beach bar, rides, seaside-themed stalls, live music, and activities such as volleyball, movie nights and salsa dancing.

Entry is free for visitors wanting to enjoy the beach, boardwalk and paddling area.

There's just one week to go until Nottinghamshire Pride! The Parade will begin at 11am at the junction of Lister Gate and Castle Gate (outside M&S), following a new route through Hockley and finishing at Sneinton Market. During the Parade there will be a number of road closures and this will also affect some transport services in the city. *Click here [ [link removed] ]* for more information on the closures.

From 1pm-6pm the Main Stage at Sneinton Market Square will host a fabulous line-up of artists, speakers and musicians, including Tia Kofi, The Dolly Show, Ashly Song, Rob Green, and Manly Mannington. Here you can also browse stalls and local independent businesses.

Join Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria and those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. TV presenter, theatre performer and "Strictly" finalist Karim Zeroual will lead the cast of the tour as King Julien.

This weekend, the Forest Recreation Ground hosts an African Festival featuring cultural bands, dancing groups, an Afro-beats corner, Afro-traditional food cuisines, arts and crafts, storytelling, poetry and children's activities.

The festival aims to bring African people in the East Midlands together to celebrate the African cultural heritage, and share their rich traditions to other nationalities from across the globe. The event is open from 1pm-7pm and is free to attend.

The Arboretum Beer Festival is coming back for a fourth year, bringing summer vibes to Nottingham’s historic green heart. The Victorian bandstand will host a music line-up including Fakermaker, The In-Here Brothers, The Outriders, Dorothy Ella, D.I.S.C.O and the Hot Plants DJs.

Beer will be flowing from Nottingham’s award-winning Castle Rock, freshly crowned as National Pub Group of the Year, along with some tasty additions from home and further afield. Delicious street food will also be available, curated by Bustler.

Brazilian Cultural Centre presents Orijá

Orijá is a dance performance that invites the audience to explore and recognise the daily influences of the African diaspora in Brazil, through the perspective of the Yoruba people and their Orixas (orishas).

Orixas are ancestors who have been deified. The dance performance will feature 17 orishas and their stories, and an exciting journey aiming to recover what has been erased by the passage of time.
