Dear Friend, As Alaskans approach the Primary Elections in only four weeks, I am calling to ask for your support. I know that running up against corporate and family money will be a challenge, but it is too important to let the campaign be bought with hundreds of thousands of dollars. Instead, I am asking for your grassroots support and any dollar amount can be meaningful. I am asking for your humble support because this is THE important race to preserve bipartisanship in the State Senate! This year, Alaska was fortunate to have a natural check and balance against an unchecked administration thanks to bipartisanship. I was able to pass personal legislation enhancing the lives of seniors through Senior Benefits and continuation of the Commission on Aging. As a Senate, we addressed issues like fentanyl abuse through a crime bill and a developed one of the most comprehensive energy bills that the state has seen in 30 years through legislation dealing with transmission and renewable energy. But Alaska faces some very challenging times from an emerging workforce, flat budgets, a volatile commodities market and global factors out of our control. The one thing that you can count on is that my long tenure, composure and strong resolve will help keep us purposefully headed in the right direction as Alaska emerges even stronger than ever. With your support, I will defend the seat, win again and continue to keep a strong bipartisan majority intact and working for ALL Alaskans.
