Folks, during my opponent’s speech at the Republican National Convention this week, when he said my name, the crowd actually boo’d me.
Now look, if the GOP wants to yell “boo” at what I’m working for — a strong economy, safe neighborhoods, reproductive freedom for all, and free and fair elections… well, that’s their right.
But in my 30 years of public service in the Commonwealth, I’ve learned that Virginians aren’t name-callers, and we’re not pessimists. We’re optimists. We’re hard workers and problem solvers. We stand up for each other, we don’t tear each other down!
My opponent may not know that yet. (After all, so far he hasn’t been that interested in actually listening to Virginians.)
But come November, I’m willing to bet that he will. Because no matter how much money national Republicans and Trump’s MAGA donors pour into Virginia to flip this seat, we are going to be ready to stand up for what’s right.
To do that, we need to be prepared for an onslaught of attacks, plenty of negative ads, and a whole lot of “boo”s from the GOP — so today, I’m asking you to pitch in a few bucks to my re-election campaign.
With your support, we’re building a massive grassroots outreach campaign that will get our positive message out to voters in every corner of the Commonwealth and boost Democratic turnout in November.
