Dear John,

A quick update from Milwaukee:

  1. I am a member of the Committee on Homeland Security, which is responsible for oversight of the Secret Service. The committee will be conducting investigations into the Secret Service failings that resulted in the assassination attempt on President Trump last weekend. Based on what we’ve learned so far, we are going to be very busy trying to get to the bottom of the agency’s failures.

  2. I’ve spent part of the week at the Republican National Convention.  I cannot recall a time in my life when our party has been more united and motivated. Everyone is ready to give 110% effort to re-elect Donald Trump. Here’s Jo and me on the convention floor.

  1. I’ve never worked harder in my life on a campaign than I have on this AG’s race. The need to restore law and order in our country and our state has never been clearer. So many of you have been so generous. My campaign raised almost $3 million dollars through June 30th – that is three times what any North Carolina Republican has ever raised in the AG’s race.

Now the bad news.  My opponent, Jeff Jackson, has raised $7.2 million through June 30th. The big difference is he has leveraged the national far left’s fundraising platform ACT BLUE to collect mountains of money from progressive donors in cities like San Francisco, New York City and Chicago. Republicans don’t have anything that can match it.

The good news is we don’t have to match Jackson dollar-for-dollar to win this race.   But I really need to close the gap.

I know many of you have given the maximum contribution. But if you haven’t already given the maximum donation of $12,800 per couple or $6,400 per person, I really need your help. Please consider giving as much as you can tonight.

God Bless you all.
