Like many of you, I am feeling pretty depressed right now about the state of our politics.

Republicans are rallying behind Donald Trump and JD Vance at their GOP convention this week and we all see the news around President Biden.

I sent you an email earlier this week sharing my fears about what this national environment means for toss-up races like mine. But I refuse to let this stop our mission. We simply have too much at stake to hide our heads in the sand. Abortion access, climate, our democracy - all are on the line.

So this week I told my team we have to act. We have to fight back. We have to get our message out to voters and tell them what Democrats stand for.

I know everyone is freaking out, but there is no more time to waste. We need everyone to get off the sidelines and fight for our values. If you want to make an impact right now, my race is one of the best places to send your donation - California’s 9th district will decide if Democrats win back the House and serve as a check to Trump’s extreme policies.

We have to fight back on a local level to win this seat and save our democracy.
