Hi there, it’s Michael.
The Republican National Convention this week has been a reminder of what's at stake in this election. When Republicans at the RNC talk about “making America great again,” they mean seizing power and implementing Project 2025.
Trump’s closest allies created the Project 2025 plan with the Heritage Foundation, an ultra-conservative think tank. They designed this four-pronged proposal to consolidate Trump’s power, attack our fundamental freedoms and rights, and undermine our democracy.
Starting on Day One of the new Trump administration, Project 2025 would reshape the federal government by mass-firing current federal employees, replacing them with approved Trump allies, and implementing extremist policies.
It includes nearly 900 pages of policy suggestions. These are some of the most terrifying:
*
Severely
restrict
access
to
reproductive
care
across
the
country,
including
banning
the
distribution
of
commonly
used
abortion
pills

*
Rollback

to
fighting
the
climate
crisis
and
researching
renewable
energy

*
Slash
programs
that
support
children
living
in
poverty,
including
free

meals
and
the
Head

program

*
Finish

wall

*
Attack
the
LGBTQ+
community,
including
by

the
Trump-era
ban
on
transgender
people
serving
in
the
military

*
Abolish
the
Department
of
Education
and
attack
diversity
initiatives
across
the
country

*
Expand
presidential
powers
to
allow
Trump
to
quell
protesters
and
target
political
rivals
Trump may try to distance himself from this plan, but his ties to it are undeniable. Around 200 former Trump administration officials are involved in Project 2025.
Before Trump came into office, the Heritage Foundation provided his new administration with a similar list of policy suggestions. Halfway through his first term, Trump had instituted 64% of them, including leaving the Paris Climate Accords and increasing offshore drilling.
Friend, Project 2025 underscores the stakes of November’s election. Our democracy is on the line — and we need to win swing seats up and down the ballot to block extremist Republicans from consolidating power.
Will you join me in doing everything we can to keep Trump out of office, defeat Project 2025, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November by pledging to vote? You can add your name here >> [[link removed]]
