A pivot. It’s a quick change of direction and we’ve all had to make them these last few weeks since 2020 hasn’t turned out exactly how any of us had planned. But as I shared last month, we’ve turned the challenge of social distancing into new opportunities to share our mission.

As we continue to evolve how we stay connected and think of new ways everyone can take an active part in this community from home, I wanted to give a quick update on two of our newest initiatives.

Yards for Yeardley

I couldn’t be prouder to share that this amazing community has already pledged over 500,000,000 yards — that’s nearly 5X our original goal of 100 million yards! And we are not done yet. There’s still time to join in and we hope to see this MOVEment continue to grow as we near the finish line.

To celebrate the end of Yards for Yeardley and honor Yeardley’s life in the 10 years since she has passed, we have a special Instagram Live event planned for Sunday May 3rd at 3 PM EST. We hope you’ll tune in as we celebrate those who helped us reach our goal and look back on all the good that’s been done in Yeardley’s honor.

At Home with One Love

It’s hard to believe that just last month we launched At Home with One Love, our new virtual learning series. In the first weeks, more than 1,000 people have already participated — completing workshops, taking part in open and honest conversations, and joining in professional development sessions — all online. We hope you’ll continue to sign up and check out our weekly schedule for info on new sessions.

Finally, I want to let you know the support and enthusiasm in this community has been a bright spot for all of us at the organization. While we don’t know when we’ll return to normal, we do know that until then, we’ll continue to stay connected to our incredible One Love family.
