It’s hot as hell,
John.

But that’s good news for the peas. They’ll be ready to plow soon as we
head into harvest season.

I love being a farmer. Even as a kid, I knew I wanted to take over the
family farm. It gets my hands dirty and keeps me grounded. It’s tough
work—but it reminds me why I fight so hard for Montana’s families.

And spending 16 hours on a tractor all day gives me some time to think in
solitude. I even have two pictures of my tractors sitting on my desk in
Washington. I call them my “thinking pictures.”

Most folks out in Washington don’t give a rat’s you-know-what about the
issues facing rural America. Rural Americans deserve a voice in the
Senate, and that’s why I’m working so hard to win this race.

But being a farmer—the Senate’s only working dirt farmer—means I have a
lot less time to fundraise than my opponents.

Trust me, I hate asking for money. I know how hard you work for every
dollar. But the truth is, this race will be one the most expensive Senate
elections in Montana’s history.

Outside groups have reserved nearly $65 million to distort my record—with
more to come. We’ll need to significantly ramp up in these final four
months to respond.

So here’s the part where I have to ask,
John:

[ [link removed] ]Could you pitch in $10 before midnight? With farming taking up so much
of my time, I’m counting on this grassroots team (that’s you!) to help
make up the difference in this critical election >>

I’ll let you in on a secret: The key to a successful harvest is hard work
months before during planting season. And
John, we’re
running this grassroots campaign the same way. We’ve got just 100-some
days left until the election, so anything you give right now will help us
run the strongest possible race.

Thank you for your support.
