Hi John -- During our morning check-in, Jacob and I were talking about our new polling and how that informs our budgets for TV, direct mail, and digital infrastructure. The data tell us that if we invest in a paid outreach strategy that focuses on my background as a scientist, my commitment to public healthcare, and my dedication to addressing the climate crisis, we will win the race for New York’s First District.
For the past several weeks, I’ve been connecting personally with my friends in chemistry, medical experts, and local political leaders about the research underway to overcome the challenges we’re facing as a country. My opponent, Lee Zeldin, has instead continued putting his effort into defending Trump, rather than delivering real results for our community.
Right now, our campaign is gaining strength, and with the extraordinary support you and others on this team have shown, we have successfully raised more than almost any first-time Democratic challenger in the country.
But look, Zeldin has raised more than $3 million for his 2020 re-election war chest. (Nearly $1 million of which comes from special interest PACs.)
So we must continue to build the resources needed to compete with Zeldin’s big money donors. Please, can I count on you to contribute $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can give to help us put our pro-science message in front of voters?
Now more than ever, we need to elect leaders who trust our public health experts. I appreciate your support in this race to make that happen.
Thank you,
Nancy
P.S. Happy Earth Day! I hope you find a way to enjoy the sun today and to do something to fight for our planet.
