New York state has the opportunity to make the big polluters fund climate action that will cut pollution and create green, union jobs. Fossil fuel companies made the mess, so they should pay to clean it up.
Today marks the fifth anniversary of New York’s Climate Law, which is among the nation’s most aggressive climate and environmental justice laws. And like the Climate Change Superfund Act, it was fought for and won by a powerful coalition of grassroots organizations, thanks to supporters like you.
Unfortunately, New York is lagging behind and won’t meet a Climate Law deadline to reach 70% renewable energy by 2030. This isn’t just numbers on paper. More delays mean more climate destruction.
