Dear NRDC Supporter,

The next chapter in our fight to protect the Arctic is
here:

A new once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win maximum
protections for 10+ million acres of the Western Arctic Reserve
is facing fierce opposition from Big Oil.

We need your help to swiftly counter the oil industry's
attack on these critical protections.

Starting now, every donation to NRDC to protect America's
Arctic and our environment will be MATCHED $1-for-$1, up to
$250,000 — but ONLY until July 24. ( [link removed] )

The Interior Department's new Arctic proposal would
safeguard the largest intact landscape in the United States.
Scores of wild species depend on these wildlands, from threatened
polar bears to endangered beluga whales and millions of migratory
birds.

Hoping to torpedo these protections, Big Oil — led by
ConocoPhillips — decried the proposal as "misguided" and
denounced it as "a step in the wrong direction."

That's rich coming from an industry that's willing to
plunder every last remaining acre of wildlands for profit as we
hurtle faster toward climate chaos.

Last year, oil giants raked in a staggering $172 billion in
profit — all that during the hottest year in recorded history.

Unless we stop them now, Big Oil will squeeze every last
drop of oil from America's Arctic, no matter the cost to our
planet.

DOUBLE your donation and help NRDC build a groundswell of
public support to secure these historic protections for the
Western Arctic Reserve and for our environment. ( [link removed] )

Your gift will back NRDC's work in and out of court to
protect some of the most vital wildlife habitats from Big Oil's
greed, including:

* Utukok River Uplands, where you'll find calving grounds for
the Western Arctic Caribou Herd that are vital for 40 Indigenous
communities
* Teshekpuk Lake, which includes nesting habitat for millions of
migratory birds arriving from six continents
* Colville River, home for the densest population of wolves on
Alaska's northern coastal plain
* Kasegaluk Lagoon, one of the largest unspoiled coastal lagoon
systems in the world where endangered beluga whales calve
offshore

Despite their ecological significance, these irreplaceable
wild landscapes have never come this close to receiving
far-reaching protections.

Don't let Big Oil spoil the remaining pristine, important
public lands in America's Arctic: Donate by July 24 and make
TWICE the impact to power NRDC's work in and out of court. ( [link removed] )

These protections can't come soon enough. Tomorrow may well
be too late.

Thank you in advance for helping us face down Big Oil
during this critical moment for the Arctic.

Sincerely,

Manish Bapna

President, NRDC
