Comrades,
Some good news in troubling times: we've finalized our COVID demands list! You can read it here.
We've focused it on specific actions for local and state leaders, and the items on the list are applicable regardless of whether Tennessee "reopens" in the coming days or not, so we ask you to join us in this work to ensure our essential employees are protected and rewarded for their service, that our most vulnerable neighbors have the services they need, and that our government and business leaders are held accountable for the lives they affect.
We're asking you to sign the petition and share it with others in your circle who agree with the work we're doing! Click here to sign and share!
In other news, we're also engaging in local COVID-specific labor organizing! We're making flyers, yard signs and even car-top signs to target essential workers and let them know we will assist them in organizing their workplaces for the pay and benefits they deserve. We're asking all our members to put up a yard sign when they become available (very soon!) - please email us back or join our Slack by clicking this link to get on the list for this easy way to help us with this critical work.
You can also share our snazzy new website, which has the link to the form they can fill out to contact us for organizing help! If you'd like get involved on the helping side, click here to join our Slack team and we'll put you to work right away.
(And if you know people outside of Chattanooga who need this kind of help, DSA National is doing the same work in conjunction with UE. Here's their form if you need help with organizing, and here's the form if you can provide help!)
We hope to see you soon! We've got a lot to do, and we need everyone on board if we want to build a better and more just future for ourselves and those who will come after us.
Solidarity, forever.
