John,
Since being elected to Congress, Marilyn has focused on enhancing the lives of South Sound residents and fostering economic success across Washington State.
One perpetual barrier is the lack of banking services for marijuana businesses, making them vulnerable to crime as cash-only operations.
With recent moves by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to reclassify marijuana, there is renewed momentum in Congress to address these issues – and the SAFE Banking Act is a crucial next step.
This legislation will enable cannabis businesses to access necessary financial services legally, enhancing safety, transparency, and economic growth.
This act is not only about supporting the marijuana industry but also about boosting our local economy, creating jobs, and the safety of local workers.
With Washington State’s decade-long support of recreational marijuana, it's time these businesses received the same financial protections as other legal entities.
