Advocacy: 1,400 Organizations Urge Congress to Protect SNAP
PIF member Food Research & Action Center coordinated an organizational sign-on letter urging Congress to protect and strengthen the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The U.S. House Agriculture Committee’s draft “Farm Bill” makes billions in cuts to SNAP, a lifeline for more than 40 million people, including millions in immigrant families. The final letter, urging lawmakers in both chambers of Congress to insist on responsible SNAP funding, was signed by more than 1,400 organizations, including many PIF members. We thank signatories for raising their voices to protect families and encourage everyone to use the letter in their advocacy to protect SNAP.
