Animals in Labs Need You TODAY ([link removed])

Friend,

Animals' lives are at stake. Right now, drug companies are using extensive animal testing thinking it will ensure a faster approval process through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The reality is that there are numerous non-animal test methods available, but the FDA isn’t making that clear to drug companies. That means hundreds of thousands of animals are being needlessly harmed and exploited in testing labs across the country. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

With your support, we can end this cruelty. Your gift of $20 or more to the Humane Society Legislative Fund will ensure we can continue our work to end unnecessary animal testing and protect all animals from cruelty and abuse. ([link removed])

Animal testing is an outdated and ineffective process with questionable outcomes. You might be shocked to know that 90% of drugs that “pass” animal testing actually fail in human trials. Non-animal testing methods could improve results and even help deliver new drugs faster, but the FDA’s current drug approval guidelines don’t make it clear that these alternative methods will be accepted instead of animal tests. And because of that, animals continue to suffer.

That’s why we’re petitioning the FDA to change its approval process and make it clear to companies they have options other than outdated and ineffective animal testing methods. It’s the right thing to do for innocent animals and for humans who rely on safe and effective products. But we can’t achieve this urgent policy change without the resources we need to keep fighting.

We wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important, friend, so please: Make a gift now, and help us continue our lifesaving work for vulnerable and exploited animals everywhere. ([link removed])

Thank you,
