Bend the arc

Dear Friend,

This week began with Trump selecting JD Vance as his running mate. Rather than fill his gaps as a candidate (like nominating someone with more political experience, for example), Trump doubled down on the antisemitic Great Replacement theory, on white Christian nationalism, and against abortion.

At Bend the Arc, we’re also doubling down: on dismantling antisemitism, on stopping Project 2025, and on fighting for the multiracial democracy of our dreams.

In our highlights from July below, you’ll find stories, videos, and news that show our movement in action:

LAUNCHING: Dismantling Antisemitism training series, starting August 8th

Last week, we launched our newest Dismantling Antisemitism Message Guide online, with 150+ Jewish and progressive leaders, and in person at Netroots, a national political strategy conference. Now, to prepare you and your communities to talk about antisemitism in this critical moment, we have six robust trainings planned through September. Coming up first: RSVP to “Unpacking and Responding to Antisemitism” on Thursday, August 8th, at 12pm ET.

ANALYSIS: Six ways mask bans hurt Jewish safety

Threats of antisemitism (real, exaggerated, or completely made up) are once again being used as an excuse to restrict our rights under the false name of “Jewish safety" The latest? Banning masks in public spaces. Read our thread about mask bans and Jewish safety on X. Also on Instagram and Facebook.

IN THE PRESS: CEO Jamie Beran on how the Right uses Jews to justify racist, anti-immigrant policies

“Jewish people should never be used as justification for racist, xenophobic policies that harm our immigrant family and fuel antisemitism. Bend the Arc will participate in challenging this outrageous plan, and every part of the Right’s catastrophic Project 2025, in the legal system and in the streets, together with our partners in the immigrant rights community.” Read the article in JTA.

VIDEO: Project 2025 & how American Jews can stop fascism

Right-wing extremists are executing a plan to dismantle our democracy, and they’ve already started hiring and training for it. Project 2025 is a detailed 900-page plan for a second Trump presidency, and it’s absolutely frightening. In our new video, we share more about Project 2025 and the role American Jews have in stopping this right-wing movement.

NEWS: Despite tremendous efforts, including #JewsForJamaal, Rep. Bowman ousted by MAGA donors

It took Republicans registering themselves as Democrats, a machine of racist tropes, and over $20 million of funding from MAGA Republicans, big corporations, and private prison profiteers to defeat this popular Black incumbent progressive champion. But win or not, we changed the narrative, built power, and were bold and persistent. Here’s the story of our #JewsforJamaal’s work this primary season.

We're rising up alongside all who are impacted by antisemitism, anti-Black racism, and white supremacy to fight for the joyful future we deserve — a future where Black liberation is realized and where all of us are safe and thriving, no matter what we look like or where we come from. You can power this movement forward with a gift of any size today.
