Happy Earth Day, friend!

It’s so crucial that we take care of our planet, not just today but every day — for the sake of our natural resources, wildlife, and even our own survival.

Climate change has far-reaching effects on our community, such as more frequent and severe natural disasters, and even possibly the accelerated occurrence and spreading of viruses like coronavirus. 

And of course, all of these effects disproportionately impact people of color. 

That’s why Yvette has led the fight in getting our government to recognize climate change for the threat that it is.

It’s why she supports the Green New Deal, which will reduce US dependence on fossil fuels and guarantees new jobs in clean energy industries.

It’s why Yvette has been strongly critical of the Trump administration's decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, which was meant to limit global increases in temperature. 

It’s why she’s introduced countless pieces of legislation throughout her career in Congress to protect and safeguard our environment. 

And it’s why she’s received 100 percent ratings from Environment America, the League of Conservation Voters, and the Sierra Club. 

But Yvette knows that’s not enough. We live in a country where our president and his administration refuse to believe facts and science — let alone acknowledge climate change.
