Republicans are currently in the middle of their national convention in Milwaukee where they have been busy promoting conspiracy theories, lying about their record of destruction, and undermining Democratic progress. Tomorrow, they will officially nominate my uncle as their presidential candidate.

Frankly, I’m terrified. If Donald is afforded a second term, I cannot overstate the threat he poses to American democracy. Despite having the most extreme far-right platform of any presidential candidate in modern history, killing Roe v. Wade, and his criminal indictments, Donald is currently tied with President Biden in the polls.

But thanks to the DGA, we can stop Trumpism in the states. Democratic governors have acted, unwaveringly, as the last line of defense against Trump and his loyalists’ restrictive policies – but they can’t do it alone, especially not in the face of the extremist lies and chaos reverberating out of the Republican National Convention. That’s where you come in, John.

Together as Democrats, we need to stay energized around on winning up and down the ballot – from tomorrow night when the RNC ends, to a month from now at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, all the way up to Election Day this November.
