Victories for voters in Nevada

  • Washoe County, Nevada voted to certify the recount for its June 9 primary election after facing legal action for refusing to do so last week.


  • In a victory for voters, a federal court rejected a lawsuit from the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee that tried to throw out mail-in ballots in Nevada that were cast by Election Day and received shortly after.


  • The swing state has become a target for Republicans ahead of the 2024 election. Democracy Docket is currently tracking five lawsuits in Nevada filed by anti-voting parties.


Montana voters also get a win in court this week

  • A Montana judge blocked a directive from Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen (R) to disqualify thousands of petition signatures, ruling in favor of organizers seeking to place abortion rights and democracy reforms on the ballot this November.

The latest on Georgia election lawsuits

  • Georgia groups filed a lawsuit claiming that members of the state's utility board are illegally holding office beyond their term lengths due to years of ongoing redistricting litigation.


Tennessee won’t purge voters who don’t respond to letter asking for proof of citizenship

  • Tennessee said it won't purge its voter rolls after state officials sent letters last month demanding proof of citizenship from 14,000 voters. The clarification comes after a coalition of civil rights groups threatened legal action.
