Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several happenings in the district as well as Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Update 

This past week, the Pennsylvania state budget passed both the PA House and PA Senate, and Gov. Josh Shapiro signed it into law. It marks a historic investment for the future of our Commonwealth. While there are many benefits to this year’s budget, I am especially proud of the contributions that will be made to education funding, support for healthcare workers, increased environmental oversights, and other improvements to our community. There is more work to be done in support of our families and our community, but this budget is the right start! Over the next few weeks, I will break down specific improvements that this budget creates and share them with you in this weekly email.  

I also co-sponsored the following bills written by my colleagues that passed in July. Each piece of legislation addresses a long-standing issue in Pennsylvania, and I’m proud to work with a group of legislators that are ready to take action to address these needs! 

Pennsylvania Day – July 20  

This Saturday, July 20, we celebrate National Pennsylvania Day! The day commemorates the significance our Commonwealth holds in American history, as well as the landmarks and diverse culture that makes our state home.  

One-Day Office Hour Change 

On Friday, July 26, my office will be closing at noon for a staff retreat. We will reopen Monday, July 29 at 9:30 a.m.  

Summer Collection Drive

My office is collecting nonperishable foods, school materials, and cleaning supplies for my Summer Collection Drive. Drop off donations at my district office or at one of the local township or borough offices now through Aug. 8!
