In a few hours, JD Vance will address the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee as Donald Trump’s running mate for the first time. Before he takes the stage, I felt compelled to remind you exactly who Vance is.

I grew up in a small town, and let me tell you: JD Vance doesn’t know what makes small-towns in America tick.

Small towns don’t work because everyone is closed-minded and prejudiced. Small towns work because people mind their own damn business. You respect your neighbor and their choices. You respect who they love. You respect their health care decisions and what books they read.

JD Vance has a real problem with minding his own damn business, John. He voted against IVF access and wants to criminalize abortion rights nationally without exceptions for rape and incest survivors.

Vance rails against the Affordable Care Act, which provides protections for millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions, and has attacked Social Security and Medicare as “the biggest roadblocks to any kind of real fiscal sanity.”

JD Vance is a cynical fraud. He’s the Heritage Foundation’s perfect Frankenstein monster, and if he and Trump are elected in November, they’ll stop at nothing to advance their extreme Project 2025 agenda from the White House.

As Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, I’m doing everything I can to sound the alarm and rally Democrats to the polls in Minnesota and across the country. But nothing we do is possible without your grassroots support.
