"It's not about the money but to get paid for something that you really love doing—man, I'm blessed."

Hi there,

Clean energy = better communities. And if you're looking for something to ground your hope for the future during a period full of frightening headlines, we have the answer.

I just went to Detroit to see what the clean energy economy looked like on the ground—and I brought a camera with me.

WATCH NOW

The folks I met in Detroit were clear: America's clean energy boom is delivering the most equitable economy in America’s history.

For the first time, money is flowing into Black, Brown, and low-income communities—delivering jobs, lowering energy costs, and reducing pollution.

I saw what that means for myself when I met Walker-Miller Founder and CEO Carla Walker-Miller and a graduate of her workforce development program, Alijah Thomas.

"The fact that this administration is now aggressively addressing climate change... is one of the most hopeful and uplifting things that is happening right now in this country. And I and so many others are running to thoughtfully and carefully and responsibly spend this money for the good of all Americans."

— Carla Walker-Miller

Thanks to the program, which is being expanded by investments in the Inflation Reduction Act and Michigan's own clean energy package, Alijah is making a difference in his community while making the most money he's ever made. And thanks to the same policies, Alijah's neighbors can afford to make home investments that lower their bills, improve the comfort of their home, and help them breathe cleaner air.

Watch and share our short film about Alijah to help spread the word: Clean energy investments are making a real difference in our communities.
