Assault weapons are built for destruction - period. 

The assassination attempt on Trump is just the latest iteration of violence at the hands of an assault rifle. Congress has failed to ban these weapons of war from our streets and we have witnessed the deadly consequences time and again: In Uvalde, Parkland, Newtown, Orlando, and far too many other cities.

From politicians to our precious children and every American in between, no one is safe from the scourge of gun violence at the hands of assault weapons until our lawmakers finally stand up to the gun lobby and ban these deadly firearms.

Biden has continuously appealed to Congress to follow his lead in addressing gun violence with lifesaving action.
