Hi John,

The need for evidence-based public health policy that is adequately funded and free from political influence has never been more apparent. And for 30 years, Breast Cancer Action’s members have demanded just that.

Breast cancer doesn’t stop for pandemics. There are women finding lumps, navigating a diagnosis, managing the impact of treatment, and facing the end of their lives each and every day, through the turmoil of the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. Breast Cancer Action is here for them, providing one-on-one information and resources and free educational materials to everyone who needs it during this turbulent time.

With all eyes on COVID-19, we remain vigilant as an independent watchdog. Because right now, corporations are working hard to take advantage of the coronavirus pandemic, trying to rollback health and environmental regulations that are critically important for preventing and treating breast cancer. But thanks to you, we can stop them.

Our work is focused on breast cancer, but our impact is so much bigger than this disease. Our founders knew that individual behavior alone can’t prevent an epidemic—neither breast cancer nor coronavirus—which is why we work for the necessary systemic solutions that put public health over politics and corporate profit. And it’s why we work to ensure that everyone has unbiased, evidence-based, trustworthy information and access to the healthcare we all need.

This work has never been easy, but it is necessary as long as more than a quarter of a million people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Because we know that there is nothing inevitable about this disease. And we believe that together we can build a world where our lives and communities are not threatened by breast cancer.

Your support makes our work possible. Thank you.

In solidarity and with heartfelt gratitude,

Karuna Jaggar
