Hello John,
2023 was the world's hottest year on record. That's a fact that I'm still struggling to grasp. Last month was the hottest June on record, and much of the US is experiencing an extreme heatwave as we speak.
From devastating wildfires in Hawaii and California to floods in Vermont and Texas, extreme weather disasters have already affected millions in the US—and many more around the world. That's why WWF is working to integrate environmentally responsible practices into disaster response, recovery, reconstruction, and risk reduction programs and policies.
We all face new challenges for survival because of climate change. More frequent and intense heat waves, droughts, storms, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, and warming oceans can wreak havoc on people’s livelihoods and communities.
But there’s hope.
Watch these videos to learn how we can better respond to the rising threats from floods, wildfires, and other threats. |
