APRIL 22, 2020: Forty-six percent (46%) of voters are now more worried about the economic threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic ([link removed]) than the health threat. However, the latest Scott Rasmussen ([link removed]) national survey found that 49% are more worried about health issues. The survey was conducted this past weekend (April 16-18).[1] ([link removed])

Those figures reflect a modest increase in concern about the economic threat.

Last month ([link removed]) , just 38% were more worried about the economic threat while 53% primarily feared the health threat.

The partisan divide on the issue is sharp. Sixty-six percent (66%) of Republicans ([link removed]) are more worried about the economic threat while 67% of Democrats ([link removed]) are more concerned about the health threat. Independent ([link removed]) voters are evenly divided.[1] ([link removed])

Data released earlier showed that, when the lockdown ends, 34% of voters expect the U.S. economy to bounce back quickly ([link removed]) . However, 45% have the opposite view and believe the nation will suffer through a long recession. There's a similar partisan divide on that question, though the differences are not as sharp.
