John, I’ll be the first to admit this: I’m a work horse, not a show horse.

I came to Congress to get things done. That’s why you sent me here in 2020 and why you sent me back in 2022. I know my purpose in Washington is to be your advocate and your voice.

I know what good government looks like, and I don’t intend to let my work ethic fall to the wayside in favor of pleasing a party or entertaining the media. To be quite honest, it’s not my job.

My job is to represent you to the best of my abilities and make sure Northwest Indiana gets the resources it needs in order to succeed.

The government is there to benefit the people– I firmly believe that– but if elected officials focus only on optics, the necessary work will never get done.

Unfortunately, playing to the camera is often a big part of political fundraising. Even though I’d rather be behind the scenes, doing the actual work, I know that I can’t keep this campaign alive with stamina alone. It still takes financial resources to run and win.
