I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Sunday morning, Carteret County Democrats woke up to find that someone had smashed in the front window of their headquarters building with rocks and a concrete planter. Everyone there is safe—it was fortunate that this act of vandalism happened when no one was there—but I know they could really use our support right now. |

There’s a lot I could say about this cowardly attempt to use intimidation and fear in place of political discourse—but, frankly, more eloquent speakers than me have had the opportunity to make that point better than I can the last few days. Violence and destruction have no place in our politics, and the only way to respond to it is by coming together and letting the better angels of our nature guide us. |
