The whole “defending democracy” mumbo jumbo from Team Biden is just a bunch of malarkey…

Restoration News (7/16/24) reports: "Communist China’s financial support for environmental activists working to impose energy taxes on the American people without a vote by their elected representatives should invalidate those efforts, according to policy analysts familiar with the operations of left-leaning foundations. In January, House Republicans opened an investigation into a green energy operation known as the Energy Foundation China after reports from Fox News showed the foundation was steering millions of dollars of grants into 'progressive,' U.S.-based environmental activist groups...Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, a Washington-based nonprofit that supports free market policies, is particularly concerned with how groups that receive grant donations from the Energy Foundation are making a concerted effort to bypass state legislatures with their carbon tax schemes...'When you look at foundations that have ties to Chinese officials who by definition do not support democracy, and then you see that they are driving policies aimed at short circuiting the democratic process in the U.S., this should invalidate any efforts to pass something like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative,' Pyle told Restoration News. 'It’s certainly alarming to think that Chinese companies, and the Chinese government, have a level of influence to help determine where and how grants are being steered to U.S. environmental groups.' The Institute for Energy Research runs a project known as Big Green Inc. that tracks the donations from left leaning foundations to left-wing environmental groups across the country."

"With the increasing use of electricity for social media platforms, renewables can’t cut it. Many don’t have the patience to delay their tweets until the sun comes out. The most efficacious method for powering the digital demands of our century is by doing so via natural gas and oil. As the time spent on screens continues to increase, fossil fuel generation must increase along with it. The green and renewable agenda won’t help power your phone, but fossil fuels will."

Daily Caller (7/9/24) reports: "The Biden administration’s green loan czar is looking to loan more than $1 billion to a green technology company that is connected to his old trade association and his current federal office. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) Director Jigar Shah announced Tuesday that his office has reached a conditional commitment to loan Entek, a company that makes electric vehicle components, up to $1.2 billion in taxpayer funds. Entek has supported the Cleantech Leaders Climate Forum, the 'sister nonprofit” of a trade group that Shah started before joining the Biden administration and a co-host of a 2023 green energy conference organized in tandem with LPO. Entek was a “giga level' supporter of the Demonstrate Deploy Decarbonize 2023 (Deploy23) conference, a green technology conference held in Washington, D.C. in September 2023. The conference was organized by the Cleantech Leaders Climate Forum and LPO, where Shah currently works, according to its website. Notably, KORE Power — a green tech firm that reached a June 2023 conditional agreement with LPO for $850 million — is also listed as a supporter of Deploy23."

Republicans pounce on high electricity prices.

E&E News (7/17/24) reports: "Donald Trump is trying to turn high electricity prices into an edge at the ballot box. On campaign stops, in the blazing summer heat, the former president has blamed Democrats for the rising cost of keeping the lights on and the air conditioners humming. 'By the end of my term, America will have the No. 1 lowest cost of energy and electricity,' Trump said in West Palm Beach, Florida, last month. 'We’re going to get energy prices reduced within the first year to less than half of what they are right now, and that’s going to bring down inflation.' At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week, convention speakers blasted President Joe Biden for gasoline prices and the cost of electricity, driving at energy costs as a culprit for inflation across the economy. All of it highlights an uncomfortable reality for Democrats ahead of the November election. Electricity prices have risen by roughly 20 percent since late 2020, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, and show few signs of falling."

Whales ingest turbine blades and head straight for Davey Jones' Locker!

Nantucket Current (7/16/24) reports: "Debris from a broken Vineyard Wind turbine blade washed up all over Nantucket's south shore Tuesday morning, and the offshore energy company has announced a cleanup effort that includes sending a team to the island. Residents began reporting pieces of green and white foam, along with larger pieces of what appears to fiberglass, along southern Nantucket beaches at daybreak, stretching from Madaket out to Nobadeer. All south shore beaches were closed to swimming by the town just after 11 a.m. as a result of the debris. There is no estimate for when they will be reopened. 'The water is closed to swimming on all south shore beaches, due to large floating debris and sharp fiberglass shards,' Nantucket Harbormaster Sheila Lucey said. 'You can walk on the beaches, however we strongly recommend you wear footwear due to sharp, fiberglass shards and debris on the beaches.' Vineyard Wind disclosed Monday that one of its turbine blades suffered damage Saturday during an 'offshore incident.' The exact nature of the incident is not yet known, but there were no injuries to any Vineyard Wind personnel or other mariners."
