Liberty has challenged injustice, defended freedom and campaigned to make sure everyone in the UK is treated fairly since 1934 – through war time, peace time and major upheaval.

But we’re nothing without the support of our members – brave people speaking truth to power, standing up for others they may never meet, and encouraging many more to do the same. 

This is perhaps more important now than ever. 

Because the hostile environment is still in full effect, leaving people too afraid to seek medical care during a pandemic. 

Because vital protections for those of us who are disabled have been suspended.

Because people experiencing mental health crisis have also had essential checks removed. 

And because ’emergency’ powers could last for at least two years, way beyond the expected length of the crisis.
