Dear
SPUC supporter,
I am very proud to present to you the SPUC-supported, feature-length movie, An Irish Angel. Though released just this year, the movie has been in the pipeline for six years now, so I'm delighted to finally be able to present it to you!

Best described as a quirky and counter-cultural comedy-drama, the movie marks an innovative collaboration between up-and-coming independent film director, Danny Patrick, Empire Productions and SPUC.

Writer/Director Danny Patrick first came to SPUC with the idea for the movie back in 2018, after being deeply affected by the experience of the Irish abortion referendum, and the story is based on a real-life situation that happened within his own extended family. This teen-pregnancy, coming-of-age drama follows Aine, a 15-year-old schoolgirl, who faces her pregnancy dilemma in the face of imploding personal circumstances— her widowed mother facing redundancy, her gran dying of terminal cancer, and her best friend Leo mixed up with a bunch of dangerously-incompetent wannabe local gangsters.

Our movie is available on all major digital platforms, including Apple TV ([link removed]) , Amazon Prime Video ([link removed]) and YouTube/Google Play ([link removed]) . I'd encourage you to give it a watch!

Comment from John Deighan, SPUC Chief Executive and Executive Producer of An Irish Angel:

“As its principal investor, SPUC has made the whole project possible and has been intimately involved at every stage of its development. One of the main reasons SPUC got behind this film is the difficulty of covering the topic of abortion within the movie industry, where any pro-life perspective is marginalised in favour of ‘Hollywood values’”.

Please support our movie today by watching it, and please feel free to send any thoughts you have about it to myself at [email protected]. You can also let friends and family know about the movie by clicking the link below to forward this email on.
