Dear Friends,
Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has been leading a campaign to support journalists and media outlets located in regions particularly affected by power cuts. Indeed, since March 2024, energy infrastructure has once again been the target of Russian strikes.
In order to support their ongoing coverage of events, notably focussing on the consequences of the Russian invasion of their country, RSF is launching an emergency support program in collaboration with two local organizations: the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) and the Lviv Media Forum (LMF). A total of 85 media outlets and 57 independent journalists have received energy equipment (recharging stations, generators and external batteries) through this program.
The campaign to support the Ukrainian media and to ensure the right to information must continue. Their work is essential in the face of Russian propaganda. Thank you for joining us in this combat.
