The Republican National Convention kicked off yesterday in Milwaukee, and behind the pageantry lies Project 2025, a dangerous economic blueprint that threatens to reshape our entire tax system.

Members of the Heritage Foundation, the architects of Project 2025, are featured speakers at the convention and they're using this platform to promote their radical vision for our economy, including:

• Slashing the corporate tax rate to 18%, cynically labeling it "the most damaging tax" in the country[1] when in fact it’s the most fair since it falls almost exclusively on wealthy investors. This massive giveaway to big business would cost us billions in lost revenue for crucial public services. President Biden and fellow Democrats want to raise the corporate tax rate.

• Cutting the investment-tax rate paid by the wealthiest investors to just 15%. This contrasts sharply with the Biden plan to equalize the tax rate paid by rich investors to match the rate paid by workers on their wages.[2] The Project 2025 change would overwhelmingly benefit the top 1%.

• Lowering the top tax rate paid on the highest incomes. This would be a tax cut for couples with $400,000 or more in income this year. Biden would allow taxes to rise on these households.[3]

This radical overhaul of the tax code would mean huge giveaways to the wealthy and corporations at the expense of working families—including slashed public services, higher costs, and higher deficits.

We can't let the GOP use the spectacle of their convention to hide this threat to our economic future. That's why we're calling on major news networks to expose Project 2025 in their convention coverage.

Tell CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS, and NBC: Don't cover the Republican convention without highlighting Project 2025.

The consequences of these proposals are staggering. Even a less drastic plan backed by most Republicans—permanently extending the parts of the Trump-GOP Tax law set to expire next year—could increase the national debt by $5 trillion over 10 years.[4]

This is a direct threat to Social Security, Medicare, and other vital public services millions of Americans rely on.

As the convention unfolds over the next few days, we have a narrow window to expose this plan before it's too late, but that means doing everything we can to push major news networks to shine a spotlight on this radical proposal.

The American people deserve to know the true cost of Project 2025—the real blueprint for a GOP back in power—instead of hearing about the sanitized Republican Party platform, meant to hide the worst aspects of the GOP agenda.
