Hi John,
The Republican National Convention began yesterday in Milwaukee, WI, and we knew exactly what to expect. After the party adopted an updated policy platform last week, they have turned all their attention to misleading the American people about their dangerous anti-abortion agenda.
I'm reaching out today to continue our work setting the record straight on the GOP's draconian agenda heading into Election Day. You can fight back today by donating to elect Democratic pro-choice women, defeat anti-choice extremists, and help reach our $100,000 Set the Record Straight Fund goal. Donate now:
FIGHT BACK |
Here's what you need to know, John: Republicans know that their anti-abortion agenda is deeply unpopular. So when the RNC platform on reproductive access went public — and very clearly changed the party's position to calling abortion a 'states' rights issue' — we saw right through it.
Don't just take my word for it. The deputy policy director of the RNC is one of the most extreme anti-choice individuals the party could have selected. He has continuously advocated for a national abortion ban and argued in favor of incarcerating those receiving and providing abortion care. And this is who Republicans picked to draft their policy agenda.
So no, the Republican Party did not change its mind about abortion. They're hoping to cover up their extremism in fear of losing votes. And they're right to worry that voters will see through their scheme.
We know that when choice is on the ballot, choice wins, John. Donate to our Set the Record Straight fund to help EMILYs List women fight back against Republican disinformation & defeat anti-choice extremists at the ballot box:
