Dear Friend,

Eight years ago, I had the honor of starting Transparency Texas. It’s been a privilege to serve as Executive Director and foster its growth to become Transparency USA, providing searchable, understandable information about money in politics to more than 70 percent of the U.S. population across 21 states.

It is with bittersweet emotions that I’m writing to let you know that I am stepping down from my day-to-day efforts.
The mission of Transparency USA is as important to me today as it was the day we started … as we dreamed about about holding politicians and news organizations accountable to the facts of campaign finance, not just the narratives bent one way or another. I’m confident the best days of TUSA are still to come.

I’m excited to share that Kalen Walls will be moving into the role of Executive Director as I remain on the Board of Directors. In Kalen’s seven years at Transparency USA, she has worked closely with me as Data Management Director, where her accounting and financial expertise has been invaluable in making our data clear and easy to understand. I’m confident she’s the right person to lead Transparency USA in this next season.

Whether you’re a site user, donor, or political activist, thank you for your role in bringing Transparency USA to 21 states across the country. Please join me in welcoming Kalen to this new role. She’ll be in touch soon with more news and information about new projects at Transparency USA.

Kind regards,

Tracy Marshall
