Yesterday was the first day of the Republican National Convention—here's a
recap of what we saw:

 1. In the state where the convention is held, open carry is allowed—which
means guns were allowed within feet of the RNC convention
space—putting attendees and bystanders alike in danger
 2. An AR-15 was being raffled outside the convention—the very same type
of rifle that was used in last weekend's assassination attempt
 3. J.D. Vance was chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate—someone who
has a long record of opposing common-sense gun safety measures

Despite the Surgeon General declaring it a public health crisis, and
despite an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, it's clear
that this culture of guns and downplaying the magnitude of gun violence is
still prevalent.

lawmakers to improve our gun laws, mobilizing grassroots supporters, and
more. Help us stand firm against the guns everywhere agenda and support
our work to prevent gun violence with a generous donation today.
