The Republican National Convention is underway and this is what we're seeing.
Hi–
Yesterday was the first day of the Republican National Convention—here's a recap of what we saw:
In the state where the convention is held, open carry is allowed—which means guns were allowed within feet of the RNC convention space—putting attendees and bystanders alike in danger
An AR-15 was being raffled outside the convention—the very same type of rifle that was used in last weekend's assassination attempt
J.D. Vance was chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate—someone who has a long record of opposing common-sense gun safety measures
Despite the Surgeon General declaring it a public health crisis, and despite an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, it's clear that this culture of guns and downplaying the magnitude of gun violence is still prevalent.
Together, we are taking on gun extremism and fighting for life-saving gun safety laws. We depend on contributions from supporters like you to power our movement for a future free from gun violence.
