At this very moment, Republicans from across the country are meeting in Milwaukee to highlight their extremist agenda, scheme to beat Democrats everywhere this November, and officially nominate Donald Trump as their 2024 presidential candidate – alongside his VP pick, J.D. Vance – a far-right extremist who belongs nowhere near the White House.

In a moment, I’ll talk more about the huge threat these MAGA candidates pose to our democracy and most fundamental rights and freedoms – and how it’s up to us to stop them. • While they’re demonizing our children, we’re investing in education so children have the resources they need to succeed.
• While they’re banning abortion and threatening IVF and contraception, we’re protecting reproductive rights.

As we speak, they’re conspiring in Milwaukee to further their destructive plans – to interfere in their constituents’ personal lives, eliminate crucial cornerstones of democracy like voting rights, dismantle our public education system, attack abortion and contraception nationwide, and threaten Social Security and Medicare.

The way I see it, we have a binary choice this November, John: democracy and freedom versus extremism and chaos. Real, kitchen-table issues that affect people versus the nonsense things that Republicans like Donald Trump dream up. And if Republicans win, everything we’ve worked for and all the progress we’ve made alongside President Biden will be at risk.

But our fight doesn’t just start and end on Election Day. We need to be giving it our all every single day – and we have to be ready for whatever madness comes out of this convention.
