It's summertime and folks are trying to spend as much time away from their inboxes as possible. Us too!
But the flip side of that is that the NDRC is now in the midst of a "summer slump" — when people understandably pay less attention to politics and stop opening emails like this one.
(So first of all, thank you for opening my message!) Instead of just asking for money today, I want to lay out what work we’re doing over the summer — and how a dip in our fundraising like the one we’re seeing in July can set us back for months to come.
Right now, we’re working to ensure our movement has everything we'll need to keep pushing for a stronger, fairer democracy from now until Election Day and beyond, including:
- Rolling out endorsements of Democracy Defenders in our priority states
- Investing in on-the-ground efforts to make sure those pro-democracy leaders get elected
- Rapidly responding to anti-democratic agendas — whether it be from state legislatures or the stage at the Republican National Convention this week
- Building new mapping infrastructure as a part of our 10 Year Plan
… and more!
We simply can’t let the summer slump set us back. There’s too much to do and too much at stake. I hope we can count you in.
More soon,
Brianna Shamsuddoha
P.S. Yes, I realize that I’d be a fool not to include a link to donate, if you’re feeling fired up to support this work. [[link removed]] So much of our grassroots funding comes from folks chipping in what you can when you can.

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
