We finally know who Trump has picked to be on the ticket with him as his Vice President–political newcomer and freshman Senator of Ohio JD Vance.

Once a self-proclaimed “Never Trump Guy,” JD Vance quickly recognized the only way to boost his political career to relevancy was to capitulate to the MAGA wing of the Republican party. That about-face is how he received Trump’s endorsement in a crowded GOP primary and won his senate seat in 2022. 

And while he’s relatively new to politics, we know plenty about his views. JD Vance believes:

• The “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was stolen   
• Pregnancy from rape is “an inconvenience” and believes victims should be banned from having an abortion
• Ukraine should capitulate to Putin’s demands
• The US should remain reliant on dirty fossil fuels

As President Biden said, JD Vance is “a clone of Trump on the issues.” It’s imperative we continue to push back against the lies and the violent rhetoric and policy proposals being spread by Trump, Vance, and the MAGA movement.
