This is a fundraising email. Our fundraising this summer has been on the slower side, and we need that to change ASAP if we’re going to win this race.

Here’s why it’s so important that we kick our grassroots fundraising efforts into overdrive this summer:

The Kansas GOP thinks this year is their very best chance to defeat me. Speaker Johnson and multiple extremist super PACs agree — which is why they’re all pouring resources into this district.

We’re just four seats away from a pro-choice majority in Congress — and flipping control of the House has never been more important than it is right now. But it won’t happen if we don’t win here in KS-03, which means that the right to choose, the rights of LGBTQ+ people, and the future of Social Security and Medicare are all riding on how hard we fight over the next three months and change.

The outside groups trying to defeat me think they can win by mischaracterizing my record. I am running proudly on my record of getting things done. I’m running proudly on passing laws to reduce gun violence, protect LGBTQ+ rights, and deliver clean water and good-paying jobs all across our district. But we don’t yet have the resources to get that message out to enough voters, and we need to change that ASAP.

We’ve got our work cut out for us this year. That’s just the math of it. It’s an incredibly close race against a huge amount of outside money, and our only path to victory is a massive outpouring of grassroots support.

I know emails like this aren’t that fun to receive, and they aren’t that fun to send either, truth be told. But I’m leveling with you: we need your help to win this race. Anything you can pitch in — even just $5 — would really help us a great deal.
