The GOP is making one thing clear at this week’s convention: If they’re successful in November, they will fully embrace the Project 2025 agenda, reject the reality of the climate crisis, and ignore the majority of Americans who are demanding action. When they talk about the climate crisis, it’s only to mock those of us who are confronting it.

The Republican party platform released last week calls oil “liquid gold,” and encourages more production of oil, gas, and coal. Their energy slogan is Drill, Baby, Drill!

And if that wasn’t enough, Trump unveiled Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his Vice Presidential pick. Vance would be a complete disaster for our planet.

* J.D Vance is one of the top recipients of oil and gas money and has a history of shilling for their interests.
* As a fossil fuel company shareholder, he personally benefits when oil and gas companies thrive, raking in dividends from the soaring gas prices caused by production cuts and extreme heat this summer.
* He is a vocal supporter of fracking.
* He doesn’t believe climate change is a threat.

It would erase any mention of climate change across the government, dismantle critical research institutions like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and end federal support to help the world’s poorest countries transition to wind, solar, and other renewable energy. They want to gut our progress and thrust us back into the dark ages of fossil fuel dominance.
