Hi Friend,
Our third Planners of Color Happy Hour is coming up tomorrow, Wednesday, July 17, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Shanklin Hall in Adams Morgan, and we’d love to see you there! Despite the event name, you do not have to be a planner to attend. We welcome advocates, community leaders, students, and anyone who is interested in connecting with other like-minded folks to advance a more inclusive Washington region.
Since we launched the Planners of Color Happy Hours in November 2023, they’ve quickly become one of my favorite GGWash events. I think it has something to do with what my colleague Dan Reed calls “GGWash’s ‘special sauce’”— our community’s civically engaged, solutions-oriented characteristics — coupled with the sense of camaraderie and joy that comes from connecting with other people of color in a field historically exclusive of us.
Whether it’s your first GGWash event or your 100th, I hope to see you there!
