When I wrote you a few weeks back, I was already worried what “deals” House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader McConnell would cook up with 2020 elections bearing down.

But once the authoritarians got hold of this coronavirus panic, I knew liberty-loving Americans like you and me were in for something unprecedented to protect our freedoms. 

Suffice it to say, much hangs on the decisions before us.

-- Create a Nationwide Gun Registration -- aka “Universal Background Checks” . . . giving Government Goons the names and firearms of every single gun owner in the country.

But before you do, please consider the growing threat of censorship in the United States.

Authoritarian politicians and bureaucrats will take advantage of any opportunity to censor those like you and me who stand in the way of their statist schemes.

I know you’ve heard bone-chilling stories of tech giants effectively black-listing anyone who doesn’t toe the Big Government line.

Let’s not kid ourselves. . .

These ostensibly private tech companies like Facebook, Google, Twitter, and others have been tied at the hip to the Deep State for nearly two decades now.

They’ll hand the NSA and any other government agency gobs of private information on law-abiding Americans any time it’s asked for!

Now they’re openly admitting to turning over phone GPS location data to government officials because of the coronavirus.

Facebook proudly issued TAKE DOWN ORDERS this week against pages of groups protesting absurd coronavirus house arrest policies!

Those protests show Americans are growing ever more strident in opposing blanket lockdown orders and making it clear they won’t tolerate politicians trampling on our liberties.

Citizen protests make politicians nervous.  

That’s why Congress has also been in on the censorship with draconian legislation like the Establishment Protection Act (H.R. 1), that would:

***  Impose sweeping new regulations on organizations like Campaign for Liberty, to keep us quiet and cripple our effectiveness during election years;

***   Force grassroots organizations to publicize and release the names of supporters making them vulnerable to threats, intimidation, or worse, from radical left-wing mobs;

***   Increase regulation of Americans’ online speech beyond paid advertising to include communications on groups’ or individuals’ own websites and email messages.

But I’m afraid that’s not even the worst of it.

Consider this recent headline from Politico: “DOJ seeks new emergency powers amid coronavirus pandemic!”

The powers the Department of Justice goons want during so-called “emergencies” is INDEFINITE DETENTION of American citizens without trial!

This blatantly unconstitutional power grab has topped the statists’ wish list for years!  So you can be sure they’re lobbying Congress to slam it through!

And what about the next emergency?

Remember, not too long ago, it was C4L  supporters who were listed in a Missouri Fusion Center report, later referred to as the MIAC report, as “domestic extremists” to be watched.

And it wasn’t just C4L  supporters on that list, but people displaying third party logos and bumper stickers and supporters of specific politicians -- including me.

In the past, everyone from gun owners, to pro-lifers, to tea partiers, were labeled “terrorists” by their political opponents.

You don’t have to think very long to see how terrible this could get. . .

Government agents with the power to secretly target American citizens and throw them in jail for years or even decades without so much as a trial!

So, if you think Campaign for Liberty’s top focus should be stopping statist tools that could muzzle you and me for good, please select “STOP INDEFINITE DETENTION AND BIG GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP SCHEMES” on your Supporter Ballot.

But before you do, please remember an all-out congressional showdown over FISA reform and reauthorization of Section 215 of the so-called “USA Freedom” Act.

Section 215 of this federal law is the section surveillance state apologists point to for the warrantless collection of your (and every other American’s) emails, phone records, text messages, Internet searches, instant messages, online purchases, and Facebook posts.

With their “print-now, ask-questions-later” policies, they fuel the out-of-control Big Government Leviathan that never stops growing, never stops seizing our freedoms, and never stops the mad rush to full-blown socialism.

But it will ultimately wreak devastation on American middle class.

As you’ll see, there are no easy choices. 

Focusing solely on any one area means Campaign for Liberty will simply have to let the statists in BOTH parties get their way in another.

I can’t even bear to think about what that would mean for the future of our country.
