Brothers, Sisters, Siblings:
A little over a week after Hurricane Beryl swept through Houston, East Texas, and Tyler, an estimated quarter of a million people are still without power in the sweltering heat. Cleanup and repair from downed trees, broken windows, and other debris is still ongoing.
?In the midst of this destruction, our union siblings are stepping up and taking care of their communities. Linemen from all over the country, led by the workers of IBEW Local 66, are restoring power block by block, persevering through harassment and threats from frustrated residents. Volunteer union apprentices are helping their neighbors clear debris from their homes.
?This is what solidarity looks like. If you are in a position to help continue these efforts, we have deployed the Texas AFL-CIO Disaster Relief Fund: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=HNN6VRBJJRF9A
?The Texas AFL-CIO Disaster Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, passes along 100 percent of your donation to assist union siblings. No donation is too small. In this case, the Fund will pass along contributions to these areas to help union members directly.
Texas union members always step up in crises. Thank you for considering a donation: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=HNN6VRBJJRF9A
