My name is Edwin and I am a community organizer in Uganda working closely with 350.org. I was born and raised here in Uganda, and have witnessed first-hand the severe impacts of fossil fuel extraction and climate change on vulnerable communities.

And right now, French oil giant TotalEnergies is preparing to build the world's largest heated crude oil pipeline right through the heart of Africa. The potential threat the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) poses to my community is unimaginable. Ecosystems will be destroyed, communities will be displaced, and climate disasters will only get worse. Not just here in Africa, but around the world.
