Fawcett and Wilde Vs the Sun: 1 year on

Join Fawcett Society and the Wilde Foundation at our event, Fawcett and Wilde vs The Sun: One Year On. Marking our historic IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation) win and seeking to stamp out misogyny in journalism, government and all areas of public life.

Wednesday 14th August | 6-9 pm
WestWorks, White City Place, London, W12 7TU

In July 2023 we made history, after our complaint about an article in The Sun became the first time IPSO had ever upheld a complaint on the basis of sexism. The deeply misogynistic and sexist article, written by Jeremy Clarkson about Meghan Markle, received 25,100 complaints and a year on our anti-misogyny work has never been so poignant.

Our Zero Misogyny Pledge
was signed by over 250 candidates in the lead up to the General Election, whilst after decades of campaigning, the recognition of misogyny as a hate crime from 4 political parties is a significant step forward for women's safety and dignity.

Celebrate the power and impact we can have when we come together to stand up against misogyny and rally around the challenges that remain.
