Since the onset of COVID-19 and stay at home orders around the country, it’s clearer than ever: Donald Trump is a threat to our democracy, our health, and our economic security. If we want to retake our democracy and ensure future health and prosperity, we can’t let the current crisis stop us from doing everything in our power to defeat him this year. 

That’s why our team has been working around the clock to give the Stand Up America community ways to make an impact on November’s election from home. And that’s why we’re so excited to announce that we’re partnering with Vote Forward to launch a letter writing campaign to target unlikely voters to get them to vote in November!

In 2019, our community wrote letters to unlikely voters in Virginia, helping to turn out record numbers of progressives. Those voters turned out to flip Virginia’s legislature blue and bring in a new wave of lawmakers who transformed one of the worst states for voting rights into one of the best in the country.

This year, we’re planning to replicate this success all around the country to ensure that we turn out record numbers of unlikely voters to defeat Trump and every enabler of his corrupt agenda.

If you haven’t written letters to voters before -- don’t worry! The process is easy and can be done safely from home. Here’s handy GIF that walks you through step-by-step:

We believe that every action we ask you to take should have a real, concrete impact. Letter writing campaigns are statistically proven to be effective.

For example, during the 2017 U.S. special election in Alabama between current Senator Doug Jones and Republican candidate Roy Moore (yes, that guy), voters who received letters turned out at a rate of 3.9 percent higher than the control group. 

Imagine if we replicate that around the country. In 2016, Donald Trump won Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Arizona and North Carolina by 3.9 percent or less.
